Reply Dori1951 says: December 29, 2019 at 9:11 am I am surprised that you use the word "manipulate". It is all pretty standard stuff. Of course people need to feel relaxed. So many people are agitated at the thought of flying. And of course crew don't stand with their arms folded to greet passengers. Nobody should. And shop design? All shops do it.Etc.You make it sound like there is some sort of conspiracy by airports and airlines. I was recently on a transatlantic flight that left London at 2pm, and an hour or so into the flight the pilot asked everyone to close their window shades and then the lights were dimmed. I could understand doing this for a few hours but this was nearly the entire 8 hour flight! Why? People don’t sleep in the middle of the day??! Reply Anthony Leung says: December 31, 2019 at 1:14 pm love it man and thanks to the architect for making the shops are curved. and we are not terrorist, lol Reply Robert Adams says: December 31, 2019 at 2:54 pm Every Airport I've been to we turn Right after leaving TSA. All the shops are rounded just as you described though. Shops are also close to the departure gate to entice passengers to buy things before take off. Reply Arshinder Singh says: December 31, 2019 at 6:51 pm Last month on a flight to India I asked a flight attendant if I could change seats because I was uncomfortable as the dude next to me kept hogging my armrest and leaning his head on my shoulder. The flight attendant looked at me as if I had asked for both of her kidneys. She said no.That was the worst flight I had ever been on . It was etihad airways btw 😂 Reply summer joy says: December 31, 2019 at 10:14 pm thanks for this video. kinda funny, that they think by using carper in an airport, passenger are buyi g for. loli like the shops at the airport, but the prices are to high. so i like looking around, but i dont buy much. Reply summer joy says: December 31, 2019 at 10:16 pm I seen an airline, that themed a plane to hello kitty, I thought, that idea was brilliant. More airline should do theming once a while. Reply TheFarmanimalfriend says: January 1, 2020 at 4:56 am Why don't you discuss side-stick versus conventional controls in the cockpit? AirFrance 447 would not have crashed if the other pilots had been able to see what the rookie copilot was doing (holding the jet in a stall). The side-stick allowed him to kill 228 people. Side-stick control is inherently dangerous. Reply Biggles Biggleswade. says: January 1, 2020 at 9:12 pm How about the top five ways RYR abuse their staff.. Otherwise I go straight to my gate, sit down and wait patiently. Reply Cemetery of Choice says: January 5, 2020 at 5:12 pm Announcements in airports and airplanes all sound the same to me all over the world: Talking too fast, rarely loud enough, and with the microphone evidently mashed against the lips so that the person can't enunciate clearly. At gates E there is only one tiny shop and absolutly no way to get something like breakfast, when you left your hotel to check in in time … Reply DIY TWOinCollege says: January 17, 2020 at 12:45 pm After sitting on a plane staring at my knees while trying not to get a leg cramp and minimizing my "personal space", the last thing I want to do is trek a half a mile thru a shopping mall to the baggage claim. Then, after walking thru this super spacious shopping mall, you enter the super crowded and undersized passenger pickup area. The whole experience sucks because you know they are trying to pull every dollar out of you. Reply Kristian Kumanov says: January 17, 2020 at 11:33 pm Thank you for what you’re doing. Reply Godfrey Jemand says: January 25, 2020 at 2:42 pm Is this guy really a pilot or was he ever a pilot? Why he is talking about control? What about his NEEED to control. Almost every company will give free months on his sponsor's sites you free offers for 30 days to 1st Year… SO WHAT… Is your mother CONTROLLING you when she opensyour window when you have to go to school Wow? Lighting is a part of all businesses. I have been in KFK, Fkft, A'dam, Berlin and LAX, most spaces are not carpet. He says NOTHING that helps me with ways to save time and/or money. He says nothing about the high prices of many things at airports… Think about it. This guy has TWO PROBLEMS: He NEEEDS to appear as an expert and he has a greater NEEEED for attention. He makes more money from YT and his sponsors than you pay for all of your flights combined. And nothing has any real need or meaning he thinks we are teenagers who have never been in an airport and don't know what tom buy. PLEASE don't like or subscribe who is selling you "Whitebread like it is a Wholewheat healthy choice." Reply Godfrey Jemand says: January 25, 2020 at 2:48 pm Gee a pilot wants to calm you down… gee he should have them let you jump around like a monkey. There are 100s of people on a plane and they all want a quiet and comfortable flight. We are all manipulated by the bus driver the taxi driver some friends and family. Gee dutyfree shops gee they want to sell you something, amazing… Like every supermarket. What has he said that really helped you. If he was a serious pilot he wants you to fly… is that manipulative? YES, but it is OK for him. Reply Tec Lis says: January 25, 2020 at 4:46 pm idc about airport selling shit because everything is overpriced, its not really stress from going through security.. is more like Stress cus you're about to GET on a plane that travels in mid air at 32,000 feet at 560mph… for me that's the only stress Lol Reply Oscar Navas says: January 25, 2020 at 6:33 pm A book I never intended to buy… I think I still have a magazine somewhere there that I bought at an airport just to kill time. I didn't read it, I browsed a few pages, put it in my carryon and never opened it again. I said to myself I will still read it when I get home because I bought it, lol and that's why it's still there somewhere. Good Video! Reply Ejaz Sahib says: January 26, 2020 at 2:00 am Point with carpet floor is totally non sense. There is hardly any other airport except Heathrow of London that has got the carpet. Tiles are far more hygienic and clean. Reply chris lawton says: January 26, 2020 at 10:24 am I always love flying overnight with Emirates, sunset lighting, stars in the roof, bird song and sunrise to wake you up Reply Sedition R says: January 26, 2020 at 3:20 pm I never ever buy anything in any airport it's way to over priced Reply schcris says: January 27, 2020 at 1:21 pm Carpets is not hygienic…can accumulate lot of bacterias…( virus corona anyone?!?!) Reply Dimes On His Eyes says: January 28, 2020 at 8:17 pm I find the stores' tricks so strange. I never buy anything in an airport except the occasional coffee. I just don't do it and I have never had a desire to buy anything. Reply QuantumBraced says: January 29, 2020 at 8:59 pm I don't know if flight attendants really try to calm passengers down or have a friendly body language, I always get a negative or at best indifferent attitude from them. In economy at least, it's like the airplane is a prison and they're the guards. Reply William Wallace says: January 30, 2020 at 3:09 am You need to practice speaking English faster. I was actually able to understand three (or maybe four) words you said. Reply Alberto Gomez says: January 31, 2020 at 4:50 pm Those window blinds! Are you in Spain? Reply RockPhonic - VLOGS says: February 3, 2020 at 1:23 am Airports try to trick you into buying stuff?! When bottles of water are £2:50 then it doesn’t matter what they try I’m not going into the shops Reply Giles B says: February 3, 2020 at 9:11 am I had noticed that re-design of Duty Free and find it f**king infuriating – so much so that I refuse to buy anything there on principle. Reply Lucien Crawford says: February 3, 2020 at 12:56 pm Blue seats mean to calm you down. Ryan Airlines: black and yellow seats, which look like an angry bumblebee. [snort] Reply Voltaic Fire says: February 5, 2020 at 7:29 am 6. Airlines encourage yoga by making all seats with child size leg room. Reply Stephanie says: February 7, 2020 at 12:23 pm Hello, I love love love all of you videos!! But I tried jumping on the app and talking to you a few times, and no response :'( Reply Virginia Moss says: February 8, 2020 at 3:28 pm As to money-making by the airlines, Fidelity Investments has a long list of economic sectors arranged in order of profitability, each with their own mutual fund you can invest in. There are about 25 sectors. At any given time aviation/airlines is at or very near the very bottom of the list. Airlines often struggle just to stay afloat (aloft). Near the top of the list is health care; this is why we pay two to three times as much for medical care as other developed countries. There's something terribly wrong here. Reply MWB Gaming says: February 10, 2020 at 12:26 pm Those airport manipulation techniques don't work on me, they just piss me off and ensure i buy even less than I was going to in the first place (kinda like how companies that spam themselves on as many YouTube videos as possible only drive me to boycott said company for all eternity) Reply Joanna Nicol says: February 10, 2020 at 7:56 pm I fly a lot. Unfortunately I'm one of those who is reassured by knowing more information Reply Roman R says: February 11, 2020 at 6:25 pm How about not depriving you of oxygen instead of trying to trick you to feel better? If it really is hard to keep full sea level pressure in, then at least make it oxygen rich. Reply James Brown says: February 12, 2020 at 12:36 am Checkmate, airports, I'm left handed. Reply Dave B says: February 12, 2020 at 4:50 am Perhaps malls/stores should borrow this tactic. Reply Derek B says: February 14, 2020 at 4:04 am Just found your channel. I love traveling and I love your channel! Reply justin jay says: February 16, 2020 at 4:03 am not if your BA Reply Andy Taylor says: February 16, 2020 at 10:01 am Airlines trying to manipulate me into feeling calm and rested, how very DARE they! I have the right to be terrified and exhausted! Reply sheh hocane says: February 17, 2020 at 2:30 am Country like Dubai are a real manipulative and desperate country where they dupe people to buy goods Reply Waves Motion says: February 18, 2020 at 10:52 am I've been watching a few pilots on Youtube, but this is by far the best content in my opinion. Reply Eduardo Guzmán Alfaro says: February 19, 2020 at 2:29 pm I've only bought once inside the airport just because I forgot my neck pillow when traveling. If they want to sell more, they have to fix the terribly overpriced items they had. I once saw a Hershey's chocolate bar for $12 USD in Dallas airport. Reply laupau says: February 19, 2020 at 10:03 pm At Helsinki airport, after security check, yes, the duty free is there, but when you take a very tight right turn, you end up in a pub. 😉 Reply OC anime says: February 20, 2020 at 11:28 am That blue has to be in business class for me to associate it with "calmness". Reply Marcus Chauvin says: February 20, 2020 at 4:05 pm I knew all of this. Still good info and glad someone is telling it like it is. Reply Product reviewer uk says: February 20, 2020 at 10:43 pm Who looks after the dog when your away? Reply Boss Invader says: February 21, 2020 at 12:26 am Regarding #2, what about someone who is deaf? Are there any requirements for those who require sign language, etc. who wouldn't otherwise even know about an overhead message, especially if say they were asleep, etc. such as having at least one Sign Learned Crew Member? How are other Handicaps/disabilities (sorry if the term is not correct, I mean this in the most positive way) dealt with on airlines such as wheelchairs, crutches, etc.? Reply Chris says: February 21, 2020 at 4:30 am Mentour always wears the pilot’s uniform. If he wore jeans and a t-shirt and sat on his couch with his dog…..well we would still like him. Reply Dragonisles Ash says: February 24, 2020 at 6:45 am The airport shown in the carpet part of the video was PDX (Portland International Airport) my home Reply buzbuz33 - says: February 24, 2020 at 5:30 pm Regarding announcements, one improvement might be to modify your initial description of weather at the destination airport to include only the details that are of interest to passengers. Although included in your wx briefing, they do not care about wind speed, direction and barometric pressure. They are interested only in details that might affect them, such as time, temperature and whether it is sunny, raining or snowing. Reply Georg Boesner says: February 24, 2020 at 6:20 pm I also noticed that airports tend to show gate numbers quite short to boarding time like ten minutes ahead to keep you in the shopping/restaurant area where all the displays are with the gate numbers on it. Reply SirShizuka says: February 25, 2020 at 10:33 am Take peoples water away "for safety" and force them to wait for hours next to a shop selling water at 5€ / 0,5L… Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
