Hello! My name is
Verónica Pereira. I’m 31 years old. I’m a tattoo artist and owner
of The Clock Tattoo Studio in Ponte de Lima. My style is realism,
Black and gray And color. I’m inspired by
elements of nature, the universe and surrealism. I’m Forged for the Universe. Since i was a kid, I always had a great
passion for the arts. I have a bachelor in arts, and then I became interested
in the area of tattooing where I exercise
and show my art. The most important moment… It was the opening
of my new space. A space that I always
dreamed and idealised. And today, I made this
dream come true, this idealisation. How it started… I just finished college. I tried to jump into
the market world. It wasn’t very easy. And so, I had to go to work
in my father’s company in which I wasn’t
satisfied and happy. However, I started taking a
tattoo course. For Beginners At the same time, there
was also the opportunity to take a female
entrepreneurship course in which they offered
a non-recoverable fund. And I dedicated
myself to that And I managed to finish it
and I could get this fund with which… with which I threw
myself into the tattoo market. It was a new discovery, a new way, I had to lower myself… to do… Little stars
and infinities. That is, basically learn to
draw again, but on the skin. It was a long
process, but it was worth it. It was step by step. I was evolving. I was always learning by myself. Then I started… And the opportunity to do
workshops began to emerge. One of them started with
Piranha and so on. There began to be
more participation and there I began
to absorb, interest and participate
in these workshops. Step by step,
I evolved and I’m proud for… for getting where
I am, to manage to put my art on
the skin. Get to do what I do in
paper, but on the skin because technically it’s
not that easy, right? What moves me artistically It is being able to give
wings to my creativity and bring my art
to the skin. Is very good. It is very
good to get to a different canvas It sounds easy,
but it is not. And I feel very
satisfied. The best of being
a tattoo artist is to see the smile of
satisfaction of my clients when I finish
doing my job. And be able to
give them my art. That is the
best for me. The worst is the lack of
understanding of people about our area.
Many times,… people don’t understand
the process that a tattoo involves. And it’s quite complicated, from
the part of the production process, from the design, all that is… a very complex
job for us Evolution begins
from humility, of our humility to share the experience and
techniques among artists. We must be humble and always be
willing to learn We have to know that we don’t
know everything. Always be willing to learn. That is, always
have an open mind… for everything. To listen
to people. To listen… new experiences, new techniques because we are
always learning That is why, we must
always be open to it. That is the best path
for our evolution. My advice for the new
generation of tattoo artists is that…
respect this art… of tattooing, as well as
the skin of our clients. Humility on top
of everything. It’s not just
putting a needle in a machine and
draw the skin There is quite
a process… with a lot of learning… before going technically
to the skin. For me, that I’m starting is create a good
source of drawings it’s quite important and
I think which is the best way to be a good professional If I could go back I wouldn’t
change anything I intend to continue tattooing,
to learn and evolve. It’s an area that
fascinates me. It’s an area that… is always evolving… New inspirations
always arise, new artist. This area is always
a discovery and it motivates me a lot,
it gives me a lot of adrenaline and I have a
lot of fun. I feel happy. My family has been very
important in my journey. Well, my biggest inspiration is my family. I’m the woman that
I am thanks to them. Every moment, the easiest
the most complicated… I look at myself, I look
back, I look at my family. Especially my father, My father is a hero to me and i’m proud to
follow his footsteps. Who would I like to
hear the story of… I would like to hear the
story of Waler Montero. A German. He is an artist who
inspires me a lot. See you soon. Kisses!
